How to create a page within a group

Minimal user role: Contributor (for this group)

Be sure you are on a page within the group you want to work with.

  1. Click on "Create Page" in the group's menu on left or right sidebar.
  2. Enter a title for the page. The title should be short as it will show up in the web address of this page.
  3. If your group deals with a specific taxon chose this taxon or if unavailable the next higher taxon in the Classification drop down menu. If you want to add to or change the classification contact the site maintainer.
  4. In the body field enter the text. You can format the text using the icons. If you are familiar with html code, you can click on "disable rich-text" to enter text in html code. If the page doesn't turn out the way you want to, which often happens if you import text from other websites, check the html code. Often it help to for example remove line breaks.
  5. If you want your page to be unpublished, at least for the time being, go to "Advanced" and "Publishing options" and uncheck "Published". If you want your page to be visible only for people logged in and registered for your group, but not for everyone, you need to uncheck "public" under "Groups". Also under "Advanced" you can chose the menu settings. Enter title and description for the menu and chose the parent item. Choose your group's menu item under "Groups" (the NOT indented entry far down!). Depending on the weight you set the item will be lower or higher in your groups menu.
  6. Click on "Preview" to check the page or on 'Next'.
  7. Under 'Discovered tags' you can choose with which terms this
description should be tagged with. Drag 'n' drop terms you don't want in the
    'terms to ignore' box
  8. Click on "Submit".
